The Turkish Minister of Industry reveals the sales and export performance of the auto industry in 2021

The Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, said that during the past year, 772,000 new cars and commercial vehicles were sold in Turkey, and 937,000 vehicles produced in our country were exported, and the Turkish auto industry was closed in 2021 with exports amounting to $29.8 billion.

The minister stated that on the basis of the group of countries, EU countries ranked first in Turkish car exports with 64.6% in 2021.

Last year, 18,966 million and 187 thousand dollars were exported to these countries, an increase of 11 percent compared to 2020. The European Union countries maintained their position as the most important market for car exports.

And foreign sales of the group of "other European countries", to which the United Kingdom joined after its exit from the European Union, increased by 32 percent to 3 billion 581 million and 195 thousand dollars.
